Well, my sister called, and our family mustang has started to act up on her.  Today after school I'm headin out there and I'm gonna perform the idle and TPS adjustments.  I have already cleaned the crap out of the IAC and the TB.  Hopefully these will help us out!

maybe even get a bit more pep out of it setting that TPS properly.

Will reply with results...

come on, just use a really big *&$#ing hammer

I just finished fixing the idle on my 95 and it idles great now. I did have one major problem, and that was I forgot to have the key in the on position to check the tps voltage.. I was getting pissed and 10 minutes later a light bulb went off in my head saying "turn the ignition key on" man I felt sooooooooo stupid. But two beers later and new gaskets it purrs like a tiger thats pissed off (ohhh it sounds good)... I am so glad that this stick topic is here

I almost forgot to mention that after doing this, my rpm's don't take forever to drop drown when shifting. When I would push the clutch in, the rpm's would go up 200-400rpm's and that was with my foot off of the accelerator. I love this site, it is soooooo helpful for a first time Ford owner.

I BLEED BLUE

hey i cleaned my IAC and boy was that biotch nasty.  13 years of gunk.  my car idles alot better to, on cold starts it idles low, around 500 then once its running a bit it goes to normal idle rpm. SOOO much better than that wretched surging :TY:

I cleaned my IAC and throttle body and it worked!

yay rah, no more surging. Getting that IAC off while leaving everything else in the car was a beotch though. I miss my giant engine compartment in my Bronco already...  :crying:

Oh well, at least this thing gets better than 14mpg!

Thanks for the info!

No mention of the throttle bypass screw?

Quote from the Corral.

"You are not supposed to move the throttle set screw, it monkeys up the TPS voltage. The 94-95 TB's have a separate idle air bypass screw to set minimum idle rate. It requires a small allen wrench to set it. The screw is located under a rubber plug towards the front top side of the TB, near the IAC."

Use that to adjust idle before anything else.  If it still surges THEN do the procedure that RyClef linked to.

k here's one for ya...

car idled fine, but had drivability issues. like hesitation in low rpm and stuff.

so i took off the c&l maf i had on my cold air, and replaced it with a bbk cold air and the stock maf. now the car has 0 dravability issues, but it wont idle at all for me! all it does now is surge and die.

i've cleaned ALL the sensors, and have recently replaced the tps and iac

any ideas!?!?

Try clocking the maf in 1/8 or 1/4 turn in crements.  A maf generally needs about 12" of STRAIGHT PIPE in front of it to read accurately with the stocker.  I assume that this CAI you have, doesn't do that.

you assume correctly ryclef, the maf bolts to the inlet tube, aka no adjustability lol
