Cervini's 3" bolt-on Cobra R hood for $160 and guy even delivered it to my house.   I don't know if I'll put this on the black car or the silver car.

I'll sell it to you for $500 shipped! :hammer:

j/K

Yes, it was a great deal.  A guy on my local board posted it up earlier today.  I called the guy and his voicemail was full so I sent him an email.  He said he got about 60 calls on it today.  I told him I had no way to pick it up, but that I'd buy it sight unseen provided there was no damage.  He said it was fine and delivered it right to my door. cheesy

hey the money I paid for my rotrex could have paid for a NICE rotating assembly for my 408 too.

Sometimes sacrifices must be made.

And I'm not one to sacrifice quality for lower price on my cars.
I'd just save a little longer.  cheesy

it's not an obsession

pretty freakin sweet paul.  on the bright side of not getting the car dynoed today, it gives me time to hopefully get my decklid and hood painted before getting the car tuned... then it will just seem like a totally new car

post up some pics of your cars paul.  I know I've seen the silver notch, and I'm pretty sure you've got a silver saleen/faleen(?)... don't think I've seen the black car.  and I was thinking you had 4 mustangs...

The black car is in my gauge install thread somewhere.  The racecar is ugly - you wouldn't want to see that.  :crazy2:

Getting this new hood makes me want to put a Cobra front bumper and a S281 wing on the black car and get it repainted... but I'm too cheap. :(  :nonono:

Mustangs don't handle.

Cervini is supposed to be quality stuff. I've never seen it in person, but I've heard a lot of good reviews on it, and I asume that because it's not super cheap, that it would fit on the car with out any issues. Good find Paul. I'm still up in the air, between Ford Racing Cobra R hood or Saleen Heat Extractor hood. I really like how slim Saleen hood looks, and that it has heat extractor ports upfront, but Cobra R hood would look perfectly at home on a white mustang, plus I already have Cobra R wheels, and Cobra front bumper. I guess time will tell.

I've seen lots of branded parts and lots of no-name aftermarket body parts and the Cervini's **** always seems to fit w/o issue and I've yet to see a body shop complain about how rough the finish was when they came in.
If you look at the pricing w/o shipping you'll notice that the Cervinis are actually not a bad buy for what you get. Its the shipping companies that make it a little painful. Its a heavy oversized item...and that is always going to be expensive to ship anywhere.

A friend of mine was looking for a 95 R hood and just couldn't get over the price of the shipping and looked around until he found one on sale at the Brothers Performance garage sale for a couple hundred bucks less because of no shipping.
Well, guess where he wound up spending that couple hundred bucks he "saved"?   Body shop prep work.   :thumb:
I'm not saying the cervinis wont need ANY work, but from what I have seen, it will need a lot less than some of the other brands out there.

Was it the Ford Racing brand, or some other brand? I would figure that for 500 dollars Ford Racing hood should have excellent finish and fit.

Actually it was an FRPP piece.   cheesy
Not saying they all are like that, because I have seen Ford stuff come out the box and go right on the car w/ minimal working too.
I'm just saying its not always worth it to be chasing deals to save money on the price because you might have to pay it someplace else.
Paul no doubt stumbled across and got a smokin deal here. But I have a feeling he is different because he will spend money to get things EXACTLY the way he wants them before it goes on his car.

Nope.  I'm in no rush.  I'm focusing my efforts on my notch right now.  The hood can sit for another year if need be - I just bought it because it was a good deal. cheesy
