1995 mustang GT

sweet project.be careful with that eaton swap on that motor, the mach rods and pistons are not forged, just the crank seeing as is was a 5spd.

We are not sure if we are going to install the Eaton yet. We are going to see what kind of traction issues we are going to have. I have a feeling this car is going to be plenty fast enough with out the Eaton. But if I do install the Eaton I have no intention of going over 8-9lbs of boost.

man that is sweet you got me thinking of findind a 65-66 and swaping my 95 over to that car how much do you think your car will way

The 65-66 coupes weighed in at about 2800lbs. That is about 1000lbs lighter than the 03/04 Mach1. If I remember right they weighed in at about 3800lbs. That puts the car in mid 12 second range with basic bolt-ons.

SORRY But thats false information man, the mach 1 was actually light there only 3,300 lbs, the 03 cobra has the heavier block blower, bigger rims, and the heavy irs the 03 cobras and 05+ mustangs are 3650-3800lbs+ so your car is between 300-600lbs lighter , not anywhere near 1000lb diff, esp now since ur putting in the mach 1 motor

His welds look good Matt,

Looking at your motor mounts, did he gusset the drivers side perch?
I would add one like you've got on the drivers side if not.

your motor is forward more than mine, but I'm not 4V baller status like your rides.

Great idea on the tubing for a jacking point.

having the towers out has got to be nice for that wide Mach motor.

Have you decided on a color yet.

I was actually thinking of leaving the engine the bare alluminum, or painting it blue. The engine bay is going to be black.

Hmmmmmmmmmm seems some pictures have disappeared.  I will repost it all.

First thing we did today was weld in the frame rail sections.

Once that was done we welded in the new rear trans mounts.

He also welded in a 1/8 piece of flat stock along the bottom of the frame rail between the new section and the sub frame connectors. Now I have a nice solid jack point when one is needed.

He also welded in a piece of 1/8 flat stock to fill the space between the sub frame connector and the rear trans mount.

Fitting in the motor mounts.

Here are the motor mounts welded into place.

And here is the engine installed.

Now that the engine is in, we get to pull it back out so we can repaint the engine bay. Next I am goint to start on the clutch and brake assembly.

Now we can all nod our heads and make decisions

Started fitting the clutch/brake assembly out of the Mach today. But first I had to remove the old brake pedal, parking brake and steering column. The clutch/brake pedal assembly fits in pretty good, but I had to move it over to the left from it's original position, for 2 reasons. #1 the master cylinder won't fit in it's oroginal position due to the size of the engine, #2 the clutch quadrant is hitting the wiper motor and controls. So I will be moving it to the left about 1.5-2 inches. After the shift left, the pedals look in about the proper position anyway. I am going to try and use the hydroboost system out of the Mach. So I will also have to modify the left rear fender apron so it will fit in position. We are also going to have to make some small modifications to the firewall so the master cylinder sits flat againt it. We are going to have to eliminate the original type hood hinges. I am going to try and modify it to use the hood hinges from the Mach.

Here are some new engine shots without the lifting chain.

The clutch/brake assembly in approxamate mounting position.

This shows the clutch quadrant and the wiper motor.

This is how much room there is for the original position for the master cylinder. You can see there is no room.

The hydroboost booster just won't fit in the proper position, so we are moving it the left.

That was my original plan, but those engines are so freakin expensive it aint funny. I bought the whole junk Mach for 6k. A junk Termy was 10k+. That was about 2/3's of my budget, and I just could not do it.
