Has anyone ever installed a sparco seat into their 79-98 mustang? I just got my $600 worth of parts in and I can't seem to figure out how the damned thing hooks up. Oh and they forgot to send me my f*cking bolts to install it, along with the track set, so now I'm stuck trying to figure out how to install it using the factory hardware for th time being, is that possible?

Leave it to Handz to add a completely useless and irrelevant post with a picture of his non-race seat.

Well I was able to connect the front two bolts to the seat and three bolts to the frame, it seems to work for now until I can call sparco tomorrow on where the f*ck my other parts are.

I bought all my Sparco Equipment from Subysports.
To mount my Sparco Fighter I used 94-98 Driver side Sparco seat mount, Sparco Universal sliders, and Sparco hardware kit.
I had to bend the seat adjustment bar to clear the hump in the floor pan and i needed to shim the seat up with 2 washers just so it cleared the door panel a little better.....other than that, it bolted up in stock location.

Mustangs don't handle.

You need to buy a Sparco Flat seat bases. P/N: 400SB029L. That part gets installed to the floor, then you install tracks onto that and then seat on top. PS. here is how you cockblock Handz

Just the new r100, red/black. I'm on a suuuper tight budget and probably shouldn't have even bought the seat in the first place. But I broke the spring on the track set on the passenger side and I just decided hell why not.

Dunno about that, some guy at the local track has a 77' marquis wagon with the original bench with a 6 point harness, runs 10.4s :P. I honestly just went for a more "User friendly" approach and bought mach 1 seats(or cobras). They have GREAT side bolsters, they keep you planted good, AND they are very comfy on long trips. Considering I drive friends around alot in my car, racing buckets would be weird. On a Side note, Handz car is Stock?!?! I seriously thought he had AT LEAST a PI swap in that thing...

Oh God are you one of those guys who pulls up to the lights next to some car OBVIOUSLY faster and take off when the other car isn't racing/doesn't care? Those people piss me off SOOOOOOO much. Meh, when people ask me if I want to race I just say "sure, see ya at the track next week!"

Actually, yes, how do you have those harnesses installed? I don't see the bar, also which are those? Are they the competition 4pt?

Look like street sparco belts. 4 point harness is not safe with out the bar anyway. In case of a rollover, and possible roof collapse, you'll be stuck in upright position, putting yourself in great harm. When it comes to cages, harnesses, and helmets, it's really all or nothing type of situation.

Yeah, I guessed as much, but I really can't afford the bar right now, 400 and some odd dollars for the bar? And it was just going to be a temporary thing until I could afford the bar. Because I noticed today that my stock seatbelt wears against the seat and I don't want it to rub away part of the seat. But thank you for clearing that up

You can install whatever makes you happy, but ultimately it is about safety. Most of the bars run too close to head as well, so having a roll bar on the street is not the best idea either.

To the OP, I was confused about how this goes together when I got my hardware kit. Ultimately someone else figured it out for me, but their idea was to stick the sliders directly to the bottom of the seat without using any of those C parts. It admittedly works, but if you slide the seat too far back you will get your hand pinched the crap out of by the part lifted to engage the slider.
Basically, I think the correct way it should've gone is two of those C brackets bolted together at the height you want, attach to the sliding base, with the sliding base attached to the floorpan base.
