Installing a speedcal

Hey, I’m in the process of installing my speedcal right now and have a few questions.

1. So I have to tap into the sensor wire from the speed sensor. Could I find it in that area circled red or do I have to cut into the area circled in blue

2. Do any of these wires going into the CD player provide power only when the car is on, rather than constantly? Or do I need to look into the cassette player above?
3. I’m going to need to get wire extensions. Since this speedcal is reading a sensor, is there any special wire extension I need or does anything work?

This is the speed sensor wire, right? Gray with a black tracer?

you could take a meter and test those wires for voltage, but for something small like this there should be no problem putting it on the same circuit as the radio. It should not draw much current.
