Hello I have a 94 gt, I parked my car at home and went to drive it later, I put my key and nothing happened when I turned the key forward to run, nor putting in the clutch for starting, no dash nothing, battery is changed and at 12.8v replaced the ignition switch, checked fuses under the hood, and acuator arm is good, not sure what else it could be everything else works in the cabin, please help, thank you!

The circuit is pretty simple, a multimeter and a factory wiring manual are going to be your best bet. There is not a common fault that happens to all of them we'd be able to diagnose over the internet.

Check that 12v is present at the starter, and that the starter solenoid trigger gets 12v when the key is rocked forward to start. Work backward from there.

sounds like maybe a fusable link could have blown. If you look at the power wires right off of the battery or fusebox there is a piece that is just a smaller gauge wire used like a slow blow fuse for large current things like the car/starter.

That's fair, don't think it's a starter problem because it's a no key inserted sound or dash sounds or lights

Also check the the box that is by the passenger side
Radiator by fan housing
The Radiator hose is right next to it
Make sure that plug in connection is clean on pins
There are 2 relays in that box and a circuit board
Check them
This is all just a start on trouble shooting

Thank you I will look at it tmr! If those are broken will they cause the fuses not to get power? I believe they had power when checked the 40 amps before

When this happened to me, first time it wasn’t the battery to the alternator, but the connection at the fuse box itself. Of course, putting in a fresh new battery would fix the problem for a few miles, until that battery would drain again, as the alternator sent power to the fuse box, or at least, mounted to it, so it wasn’t charging the battery.

Second time, it was a parking switch sensor. Car thought it was in gear.

Third time, it was a bad ignition switch.

Forth time, the car would have power, but it was a combination of the ignition control module, coil, distributor, dunno, but it works now.

there is a lot to the electrical system
thats what keeps you on your toes
all this that is listed above is trouble shooting

its not making guesses its a one-step procedure of procedures in trouble shooting
