Hi everybody! Been lurking this site for awhile and decided to join with the purchase of a 1996 Mustang GT. It's a 5 speed convertible with 153,000km. I wasn't really in the market for a Mustang but I stumbled upon this car by chance and absolutely fell in love. It was acquired by the previous owner in a trade who had zero interest in it and mainly just wanted it gone so I got a pretty good deal on it.
I discovered it's a PI swap and is incredibly loud at heavy throttle without catalytic converters but sounds awesome and runs strong. I'm not sure about the gearing but 110kph = 2500RPM. I'm probably the only guy to ever change out an Eibach lowering kit for OEM suspension but it was just too low for the local roads. It doesn't look as nice with more wheel gap but still rides nice enough for me. Cleaned up the interior, did what I could with the seats, replaced all the squishy bits, replaced the NPI alternator bolts with something more invincible and installed some sweet crystal clear headlights. Other than clean up on the paint and replacing the Mach 460 system with something better, I don't have any big plans for this car. I just like it the way it is
In the meantime, I'm going to dig through the forums and hopefully find how an NPI with a PI top end compares to the 4.6 4v.
Thanks for having me, glad to be a member.
