Anybody running the SVE heads that have been re-released? Or ran them back in the day? How did they perform (what was your combo)? Do these work on stock bottom end?

I've got an Explorer upper/lower sitting on a shelf. I figured I only want to do it once when I do it, so kind of just collecting parts at this point.

I've been thinking about grabbing a set to throw on the 357w shortblock I have for my red truck, just been waiting for a post like this to see some opinions on them.

you should take the time to look up Tim Moss online and read his suggestions on the manifold, I run Old X302 heads (2015). they work well and will spin 7k.
I am boosted and that cures a lot of problems with heads and manifolds. But I still make 740 at 6400 and 10lbs. with this setup.

I believe I read online that the main concern with these heads is the deck thickness for say a Turbo application.

Anyone know what that is on this head ?

I went with the AFR Enforcer's on my car - and by that I mean they're sitting in the living room, waiting for me to get out in the shop one day.

A lot of these budget aluminum heads are variations of a couple different castings - I went with AFR just because they're using known good pieces inside them and felt a little better about going with "name brand" china heads.

Like I stated above maybe on a motor application fine.
But with anything more than 12 pounds of boost I believe there could be some issues I believe it to be 500 or.less on thicness on these.

Well if you buy heads there us different combinations you can use them for.
If you want a budget head grab them for a upgrade over stock.

I think someone in another forum asked. The response from LMR was allegedly, "Standard".
