98 GT Vert. What is this under hood wire…?

Hi guys, I have a pink/white either in-line fuse or fusible link right between the fuse box and battery. Anyone know what this is for? Mine looks to have melted and I can’t figure out what it is.

That’s your starter trigger wire. That’s just a heavy duty 1 pin connector.

I traced it all the way to the starter so you are correct and thank you! So a straight connection is ok? No fuse or link required?

You can use a straight connection. Just make sure it’s a good connection. You just won’t be able to disconnect it right there. My car doesn’t have that connector anymore and has been like that since 2016.
