I wasn’t a fan of yellow until I stumbled upon this box (got it from a buddy I deployed with) and then I fell in love with it.caddy yellow
Not bad at all. Love the yellow tool box, and especially that vintage snap on looking cabinet!
I guess vintage is a relative term, but I got that from a fella that got it from his dad. If memory serves me, it’s from the 70’s.Not bad at all. Love the yellow tool box, and especially that vintage snap on looking cabinet!
My entire socket set is craftsman from one of those same mechanics sets. Never broken a socket, extension, or ratchet in 10 years“We’re not worthy”.
I have a meager selection of tools compared to you guys. My parents bought me a Craftsman “mechanics tool set” for Christmas when I was 16 (about 40 years ago) that is still the foundation of my collection. I have since added a lot of stuff, some craftsman, some Lowe’s house brand, some H.F. I tend to limit the H.F. stuff to stuff like hammers, pry bars, breaker bars, and the like. Have some Pittsburgh deep wall impact sockets which have served me ok in limited use. Also haves Chicago electric 1/2 “ impact gun.
The icon stuff? I've seen some promising reviews on them. I really just dont see the need for professional grade stuff in the diy garage though.I’ve got sockets and wrenches from all the brands, the only harbor freight stuff I’ve broken is my swivel impact sockets and a 10mm deep impact socket. I can’t ever get enough of my snap on tools though. Work will stop if I can’t find my favorite snap on 3/8” ratchet lol.
The new line of tools that harbor freight is carrying looks really promising though. The wrenches and ratchets feel real similar to the snap on stuff.
That’s it! I couldn’t remember the name, I just remember when I was in the store last time, I was checking them out and they look good. I agree and disagree on the professional tools in a home garage. I know what that stuff cost, but the quality is really really nice. Having a ratchet that you can put some force on and not worry if it’s going to slip, or using a good socket that you don’t have to worry about it rounding off a bolt head. Those are the little comforts you get with better tools. The icon stuff? I've seen some promising reviews on them.
