Timing cover gasket not fitting

It’s 100% the right gasket, but it’s not fitting right I guess. Like I have to bend the gasket to make it fit. Is it supposed to be like this or is the cover ruined? I can provide pics of necessary

Sometimes you need to trim it make holes bigger
