You mentioned the Megasquirt. What will it do for me vs the chip/tune I have? Is it detectable at a smog check when they “plug in”? And which version of the Megasquirt would be best for my setup?

lets clarify that a bit, it will let YOU fine tune the engine and if ya know how to adjust an EFI system then it is great. The rest of us are stuck using remote tuning or dynotuning just like anyone else. It might not be legal in cali since it is replacing the stock EFI system unless there is a 25 yr rule that might let you slide by.

nope. they found a way to circumvent even that old rule by changing it to pre-1978 (or some shit like that). Whatever the year is, it's WAY earlier than my '95 so I'm screwed!
