After hitting the rumble strip head on with LF tire I knew it was gonna hurt...exit of T10 at Sonoma on my last session. If I would've tried to correct I think I'd be in a spin with more damage. Had to hobble back a full lap with vibration and didn't find this until today when I changed to street and checked the car out. Everything is fine and it drives smooth and nice with street setup. Now, going to either just get new 17's or go to 18's for track.

I have a short clip now of the incident. Will post some track vid's soon! Here's what happened...

Man, the understeer and tire squeal made me pucker even before you hit the curb! Glad it was just the wheel and it didn't bend and suspension bits.

No tire squeal, the understeer was caused by me and my late apex. That turn is my worst nightmare there. However, when you get it right, it's great!

Got an alternator off an F150 from the local u pull for my 00 gt as that one has a bad diode that drained my battery. Got it installed but the battery was so dead it wouldn’t even start with a jump from my crown Vic so who knows if it’ll charge. I did check the diodes at the yard and it tested good.

For anyone curious, the late 90’s F150 with a 4.6 2v uses the same alternator as our mustangs with the charge lug offset towards the drivers side. Most other models I’ve seen have the 4g alternator or a 6g but the lug is at the 12 o’clock position and the harness is on the passenger side near the lug.

Changed the clutch out . Figured out my fuel filter was fucked . All of a sudden seen 28 psi fuel pressure on a pull . Car almost got parted out today
That's exactly how I've felt during my whole build. One step forward, then something shits the bed and I'm headed to craigslist to part out. Then another step forward and I want to buy another.

Finished up the rear seat delete. Gonna make a little shape change to the middle lower bolster. That's going on the back burner for now I'm pretty much done with the interior until the Recaros are done. So I jumped in the bay to start finishing up the last bit of punch list stuff. My obsession with hardware has me holding out on hose clamps until I found something I liked other that the standard T-bolt clamp. Enter speedway motors clamps. Those clamps are awesome! I see they have clamps all the way up to 4”. Those can work for coolant, and boost pipes. I can definitely see me swapping to these clamps.

Done for the most part with the new IRS catback. Got the clearance tubes welded in right below the diff to be able to clock the tailpipes flush and perfectly leveled without hitting the diff, and moreover not cooking the diff too. Got the mufflers tucked upward nice and tight to the chassis to never worry about another speed bump ever again! Just need to weld in a couple of hanger hooks and it's all done-done. Too bad only a MIG was available, would've much more liked to have had it completed with a TIG.

After a lot of pounding my head into a wall because the new alternator wouldn’t charge but no battery light on acc or in run, I decided to throw the old one back on and would you know it, it charges now and the battery light comes on with the ignition on acc. A win is a win, I’ll take it. Now to make sure it’s not killing my battery.

I just charged my A/C for a trip to NV this weekend. Air was blowing 60° and now its a cool 44°. Also going to use a couple of thin foam pads for my back and butt on the race seats. I need some cushion for the trip.
