Installed the “Rubigrid Bulletpoint” mount system today and it’s pretty legit.

Part of the installation called for removing the rubber tray from the upper “storage pocket”. I decided to cut it and reinstall a portion of it for a more complete looking installation.

Also installed my old rear view mirror mount for the Valentine 1 to finish the days round of updates. At a later date, I will be hard wiring it to get rid of that ugly power cable.

That mount system is cool stuff. I didnt know something like that existed for vehicles and darn does it look handy! My daily driver van suffers from nonexisting mount locations for phones/devices. I doubt ill find something worth the money, but im gonna look for something like this for my van

It’s probably too cold to try to paint these Oxford White but I’m gonna attempt it anyway.

Heat the paint can up first. I take a heat gun to warm the can up. Shaking and rotating the can untill warm. The paint will lay on really good, drys fast.

Just paint them in the bathroom with the exhaust vent on!

Scuffed them up with Scotch Brite and going to let them dry overnight. Going to stop for some paint this evening and start painting them tomorrow.

Great advice! We have a tankless water heater for the shop sink that get stupid hot. Instantly! So, I bet setting it in a bowl of superheated water would do the trick.

Set up shop in an unused, small building (known as Substation 14) kicked the heater to 78° and started to lay down primer.

First coat

Let that sit for an hour and followed it up with another coat.

Going to leave these alone until later today and most likely will leave them there over the weekend.

First coat applied and letting them sit for about 30 minutes before I hit them again. Can said 10 but I’m trying to take it slow. No one will ever mistake me for a professional :) I’m a bit apprehensive that the color is a good match but we will see.
